SYNOPSIS
REVELATIONS is an eccentric, dark comedy.  The world ends with a whimper.  The Devil himself is in hiding, terrified of his own creations.  After “The Rapture,” backwoods Preacher Bill Zero Bubb is left behind in an abandoned church.  He bides time digging up the half-resurrected dead in the cemetery outside.  

During his quest to learn why God left him trapped in Hell on earth, preacher meets Kevlar.  Kevlar is a pyramid-scheming young drifter who tries to sell the Preacher “Insurance Against the End Times.” The two join forces to fortify the church against left-over zombies, cultists and perverts. 

Kevlar and the Preacher both want to leave their mark on this earth.  They roam the countryside searching for God.  Preacher hates everyone he can’t save, wants to see these sinners damned, so he trains Kevlar to be the Anti-Christ in the hopes of instigating his own barnyard apocalypse.  Can Kevlar be evil enough?  Or will the Devil have to come out of hiding? 


LONG SYNOPSIS:

The world is ending with a pathetic whimper.  The Devil himself is in hiding, terrified of his own creations.  

As Preacher Bubb searches the empty plains for a reason behind his damnation, he visits his leftover parishioners.  In the Fat Lady's trailer he sees a young fast-talking kid, Kevlar, selling insurance on the only TV channel.  The Fat Lady accosts the Preacher.  He wanders, battered and half-naked on the side of the country road.  Kevlar, the insurance kid, picks him up.  

The kid wants to further his "Insurance Against the End-Times" pyramid scheme.  He tries to recruit the Preacher to sell to his remaining congregation.  The Preacher wants to save the kid.  The two join forces to fortify the Preacher's abandoned country church against nighttime left-over zombies, cultists, and perverts.  Together, they will take full advantage of the Apocalypse.  
	
Both Kevlar and the Preacher are desperate to leave their mark on this earth.  Kevlar wants to get rich, the Preacher wants to contribute to the Apocalypse, make penance, and hopefully earn his salvation.  

Preacher digs up resurrected folks from the cemetery outside his church.  Many are still half-buried, trapped in coffins.  Every pure soul he disinters is quickly picked up by a shirtless, hippy Golden Man in gleaming sunglasses, driving a pickup truck all over the plains.  Preacher is jealous, wishes the Golden Man would leave his congregation be.  He hopes his good deeds will draw the attention of a just God.  But preacher can't be good enough.  Kevlar finds Preacher masturbating to scrambled TV porn.  

To further do his part in The End, the Preacher collects poisons, drugs, and diseases to dump in a bubbling black cistern back behind the church.   Preacher hates everyone he can't save, wants to see sinners suffer.  Kevlar catches him, plans on making the Preacher some trades.  

During the day, they go in search of God or the Devil.  Kevlar introduces incognito Preacher Bubb to Wrath, an artist with holes pierced in the "666" tattooed into his forehead.  Wrath lives in an abandoned factory, surrounded by an entourage of Goth Girls.  Wrath is too drugged up to get angry, shows the Preacher an old man chained in a boxcar.  Wrath claims the old man is the Devil himself.  Horrified of his own creations, the shaking old Devil has dropped out, retired, had a nervous breakdown, went AWOL.   Preacher wants the Devil.  
	
Kevlar thinks he has what it takes to take over the Devil's job.  He went to Sunday school when he was a kid.  He's good looking.  Kevlar begs the Preacher to train him to be the Anti-Christ but the Preacher only mocks him: "You have to be good first."   

Kevlar helps the Preacher collect more apocalyptic goods to toss into his cistern: marijuana, panties, used tampons, condoms, miraculous hailstones, religious objects, Ouija boards, diseased animals&#x2026; and finally the old Devil himself.  	

Preacher and Kevlar trick Wrath, steal the Devil, push his wheelchair into the boiling cistern.  Old Devil floats there on a patched inner tube.  In trade, the Preacher finally starts training Kevlar to be the Anti-Christ.  They find cult books in an abandoned bookmobile.  Kevlar studies.  

Preacher puts Kevlar through physical training-standing naked in front of bonfires to withstand the Final Burning, drinking his urine (mixed with Cool-aid) to withstand droughts.  He makes Kevlar stop smoking marijuana.  At night, they keep the churchyard zombies at bay with pills, sprinkled like birdseed over the lawn from the church bell tower.   Preacher prays hanging upside down, hoping God will notice him.
	
Preacher digs an American Indian out of the graveyard.  Kevlar soon has their new, once-pure Indian friend addicted to porn, de-scrambled by a gizmo they find at Wrath's factory.  Preacher accidentally gives uppers to the zombies, they rampage.  Kevlar sacrifices the Indian, tossing him out the church window while the Preacher cowers.   The Golden Man comes looking for the Indian the next day.  The Preacher is afraid, frantically digs out the dead.  The cemetery is full of holes.  
	
Kev and Preacher visit a bestiality farm run by an old farm woman.  Preacher casts the perverts out with a whip, but they like it.  

They then visit a cult compound where the Preacher is quickly brainwashed into worshipping a floating Guru in white jumpsuit.  The fanatic Guru shows the Preacher the End of the World on TV.  Both laugh gleefully, clap hands at the destruction of the wicked.  Kevlar rescues the Preacher from the cult.  
Kevlar starts reading a Bible he finds in the cult compound.  The Preacher almost threw it into the cistern.  The kid starts to actually admire Jesus, though he thinks he might have been "queer."  One of the dug-out dead is his retarded brother, healed by Jesus.  He brother tells him to repent, but Kevlar only mocks.  
	
Preacher finds the last TV station, confesses all his sins on the air, cries out for God to get him out of this rotten world with all its transgressors, until Kevlar pulls the plug in embarrassment.  

An expose appears on TV the next day about the Preacher's dark side.  TVs have been used as lenses to record the Preachers' misdeeds.  In self disgust, the Preacher watches endless porn.  He pushes Kevlar to seal himself as the Anti-Christ by committing a murder.  

Kevlar is ready to fall.  He'll shoot the Golden Man.  His resurrected retarded brother leads Kevlar right to the Golden Man.  Preacher released the old Devil, follows him to the crossroads where the old Devil and Kevlar's brother get into the Golden Man's truck.  
Kevlar shoves the gun into a hole in Golden Man's side.  Golden Man simply tells Kevlar to "Get In." Kevlar does.  They drive off in the old truck, license: "DS X MCNA."  Preacher runs behind, screaming, begging to go, wants to keep his "son" Kevlar.  But Preacher Bill Z. Bubb&#x2026;Beelzebub&#x2026; is not invited.  

Preacher ransacks his church.  Zombies mull about in the chapel.  His cistern boils over, fills the rivers, and poisons the earth.  Bubb stares endlessly out the little church basement window, ankle deep in rot.

REVELATIONS is currently in post-production in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I plan to take stills and High Definition video I've shot and combine them using After Effects to create surrealistic and sparse imaginary landscapes. I will then "greenscreen" actors into these digital exteriors.

Because this is an experimental LOW budget film I would be glad for any volunteers to help me finish sets and props using 3D animation software.
